The people in Melissa Wheatley’s home church, Collierville United
Methodist, are no strangers to giving – especially when it comes
to putting a little extra in the offering plate on United Methodist
Student Day. The Tennessee congregation knows their gift will reap
what it sows because of the support for Melissa, a recent graduate
and longtime church member. Now that she’s finished school,
she plans a career in which she can use her dual degree in audio
engineering and religion and the arts.
The 2010 leaflet offering envelope for United Methodist Student Day tells Melissa's story of how the generosity of her home church and the entire United Methodist denomination helped her earn her dual degree in audio engineering and religion and the arts.
In today’s economy, your contributions are needed more than ever. Without your gifts, many students may be turned away. This year, many students were be turned away due to the lack of funds for scholarships. To learn more how you can help go to: www.gbhem.org.org.
